Assessment Rates

The start to finish assessment process usually takes at least three months. This process can be delayed, and appointments may need to be re-scheduled without warning, due to unexpected staff leave. We understand that delays can be distressing but unfortunately are unavoidable for a variety of reasons.

Before you book, please look at total costs of assessments below.

When you book, you pay a non-refundable deposit of $280 to cover the costs of us setting up your assessment.

If you need to change the due date of an invoice, please let us know by email (info@thetealspace.com.au). Changes to payments may mean that scheduled appointments need to be changed for a later date. Please provide at least one-week notice if you are unable to pay an invoice at the specified due date.

The additional cost for young person assessments is required because there are additional steps, including measures/questionnaires completed by parents and a teacher.

The cost is increased if the client would like us to speak to more than one family member, or if additional measures are included. For example, we can include the Personality Assessment Inventory (PAI) with Autism overlay if a client has a complex presentation and multiple previous diagnoses.

  • Clients aged under 25 years, who have a Medicare compliant referral from an eligible medical practitioner (must be a psychiatrist or pediatrician) or interdisciplinary team, are eligible for Medicare rebates on parts of their Autism and/or ADHD assessment. The referral must:

  • We have payment plans that can split the total cost of the assessment over 10 payment (weekly or fortnightly). Payment of 50% of the total cost is required before the initial clinical interview is completed. Total payment is required before the report is released and that feedback session is booked. Please contact our Team if you would like to discuss a payment plan.

  • If you can demonstrate that you are a low-income earner, then we can discuss the cost (note: we have some concession places available). Please contact our Team if you would like to discuss a concession place.

  • Please note that fees will increase from 1 July each year when the Australian Psychological Society’s recommended hourly rate for clinical psychologists is increased. Assessments booked from 1 July each year will be charged at the increased fee rate.
